Obama: McCain Trying To Divide Country With Angry Remarks Save Email Print

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (AP) -- Democrat Barack Obama says John McCain is trying to divide the country with angry remarks and TV ads.

Obama told Ohio voters Friday: "It's not hard to rile up a crowd by stoking anger and division."

But he says American's aren't looking for someone who can divide the country. He says "they are looking for someone who can lead this country. ... Now more than ever it is time to put country ahead of politics."

Obama is criticizing McCain's economic plans during his two-day Ohio tour.

He is not directly responding on the stump to the Republican's claim that Obama has associated with a former 1960s terrorist. But Obama has told a radio talk show that he thought the ex-radical William Ayers, now a college professor, was rehabilitated.

Well appears if we state facts about Obama it is angry statements. If we say the houses are run by democratic majority we haven't been paying attention to the last 8 years. This means we love war and listening to lies. Well, first we don't like listening to Obama/Barrys lies about his past, that is correct. Bush never lied, he told it like it was, get over it. The economy had been doing great until democrats took over, that is a fact and it is a fact they are involved with FM&FM. We don't love war but we are responsible to an oppressed nation, we are liberators, not conquerers. Please pay attention and don't make an uninformed decision on president, some of you have no clue, just party rhetoric right off the web.

McCain has become an angry old man. He in truth has lost hope, and has got to use the maverick excuse and say anything to try to keep his support. anyone voting for him does not have a clue about what has been going on for the past 8 years....you must love war, and listening to lies.

To Obama Snake Oil, You are so funny and you get funnier every day. I can't wait to see you come election day Nov.4th 2008 :)

I don't think republicans get red faced and mad, just dissappointed by the "so troubled people" that would vote in a canidate they don't even know. You know, a socialist, unpatriotic and tells you what you want to hear type guy to get elected. You would think in the internet age you could combat him with facts on his background that support what he says. Everything I looked at he flip flopped on after the primary. Then when it happens totally different, you won't be red faced and mad. I would have voted for Hillary but not this stranger with questionable ties and background. Apparently, some of you don't care. When interrest rates are up, jobs are gone and you are paying $9 for a gallon of gas the red face will be justified. Yall have a nice night and be nice.

I love Obama/Biden. Lets go democrats!! Lets show those repubs what we can do next month. Lets show them who really got the power! Lets leave them red faced and mad Nov4th. Obama/Biden08!!!!

To Glory to God, well, when the news media dodges the facts on Obama then McCain has to expose them. Palin has done no wrong, her ex brother inlaw should have been fired alone for drinking in a police car, or tasering a 10 year old son. Don't "listen" to the news? I think you need to find a different "truth" like on CNN and Fox. What her daughter did is no diffent than what can happend to most of us with kids their age. If this is all you can find on her, try again. Also, if you were posting from Heavon, you would have given Obama a lightning bolt for his view on abortion. Ayers was a terroist and aided community organizers to help force banks to make loans to people that could not afford it. In case you haven't heard, Wall street is down for that reason and we owe the 800 billion dollars for it. Thanks to Barney Franks and the other corrupt democrats. Thank you but this democrat votes republican this year.

It's the same tactics the Democrats use every election. It's ok for them to use their watch dogs and the media to rip apart the republican party but as soon as you start revealing their crooked ties to liberals and radicals like Ayers, Wright, Resco, Rangel, etc and corrupt voter fraud groups like ACORN, then they start crying hatred and racism. Birds of a feather flock together. Those you associate with tell a lot about youself and what type of socialistic programs you are going to bring to further bring this country down.

Isn't this something to think about! If Barack Obama would apply for a job with the FBI or with the Secret Service, he would be disqualified because of his past association with William Ayers, a known terrorist. For this same reason, he would be disqualified from joining the military. If he is elected President he would not qualify to be his own body guard!

Posted by: Heaven wants to know? Location: Cloud 9, USA on Oct 13, 2008 at 01:20 PM
Since it's such a big issue about Obama being affiliated with Ayers. If Ayers did such "hatred" crime against anything of America. I question why isn't he still in prison for life without parole. It appears to me in best judgment the majority is labeling him a "menace" to society!! What's up with that then. If in fact Ayers should be in prison then who let him out?

Posted by: Glory to God Location: Heaven, USA on Oct 13, 2008 at 12:46 PM
Yes, its evident that the McCain/Palin camp is slingig mud and hate all across their rallies and the tv airways. This is the worst and low down a politican can be to win a job in my opinion. I thought the rules where for both candidates to go in and get there own. The best man wins by electoral college vote/popular vote. In regards, to Palin, she needs to sit down and deal with her corruption issue invovling her ex-brother-in-law and make sure her daughter is having protected sex! You reap what you sow. Judge ye not, that ye be judged in the same measure. Obama is "not" a terrorist. The only new on the scene terrorist(s) are McCain/Palin camp. Stop the nonsense you devils!

Under OBAMA's new tax plan even the people who don't pay taxes will get a refund check. I thought the poor were already getting an "earned income tax". If his plan isn't redistribution of wealth nothing is. WAKE UP AMERICA!

Posted by: Obama Snake Oil Co Location: Washington on Oct 13, 2008 at 08:30 AM
I think most liberals see Hannity as a conservative republican, however, he does present "facts" with his reporting. I am democrat, but I watch both sides. Its called being informed instead of sheeping my way to electing a socialist. I don't have that "denial thing" going on. I know what was shown last night was/were facts. Unlike the liberal side that insists McCain would place taxes on heath insurance, the facts are that is where the money is going anyway. If you fell for that one, you are not informed.

Posted by: Rick Location: Greenville on Oct 13, 2008 at 08:06 AM
Lavon, I don't think you're looking at the big picture. Clinton got his good years left to him by Reagan and he left this mess for us now when he bolstered the strength of The Fair Housing Act, along with help from ACORN (Now there's a reputable organization right there!). ACORN used to march and picket in front of mortgage managers homes because they wouldn't loan money to under-qualified borrowers. As a result of this expansion of lending to under-qualified borrowers we have the crisis we are in right now. I don't care how biased you are to your precisous party...if you objectively look at this you will see. The housing crisis is at the root of all of this. There is video of Republicans in the Senate trying to get some oversight for Frannie and Freddie a few years back and being ripped apart for it by Democrats and having it implied that they were racists. If those Democrats would have listened and we would have gotten oversight things wouldn't be as bad as they are right now.

Little Woman and Boots, I agree with you two 100%. I sometimes watch Fox news with Hannity and Colmes; puhleese, they are so biased it's ridiculous. Go Obama/Biden!!

Posted by: Sally Location: Washington on Oct 12, 2008 at 09:24 PM
Little Woman, You don't know if they are going to show facts about McCain or not. You have to watch to find out. I just bet you are watching it.

Reply to True: You said Obama will destroy our way of life here? Ok im trying to understand, maybe im in the twilight zone or something. You mean to tell me the way the economy is and the state of america right now is totally acceptable to you? Dude are you INSANE!!!! This is the foolishness im talking about right there. I got one comparison for you. The clinton years compared to the present bush years in office. I'll let you do the math. You know you repubs start this mess every election, you start you lying and fear tactics and I admit that before it worked but you know what buddy? You wont have any luck this time because america has had it with your parties crap!! So you sit back for the next eight years and watch and learn from the dems on how to run a country like it's supposed to be run.

Little Woman, everyone has the right to vote for who they want to but it is always smart to hear all the Facts and you can hear that about Obama tonite on Hannity's America at 9pm on fox. (he has proof of what he is going to say. I will watch because I want to know everything I can about Obama before the election. I also want to know all I can about McCain before the election.

Posted by: Little Woman on Oct 12, 2008 at 06:35 PM
To true, You need to grow up before you worry about voting. First off you need to learn that we have a right to vote for the candidate of our choice. I have come on this site for weeks, not one time have I ask or expected you or anyone to vote for Obama. I have did nothing but defend my right and my candidate. If I offend you then don't talk to me, that goes for anyone on here. I don't know what you are trying to prove but it is not working.

Posted by: Sally Location: Washington on Oct 12, 2008 at 06:17 PM
True Location, You said it great. I just think some people are just right out scared to hear the true facts about Obama. I feel really sorry for them if Obama gets voted in because it is going to hurt not only us but the ones that vote for Obama because he is going to hurt everyone. Everyone needs to watch Hannity's America tonite at 9pm on fox to see the true facts with proof about Obama. Good job true location for all you said.

Everyone is so concerned now where all of the candidates are born. McCain was born on a military base in Panama. Hillary was born outside Chicago, and if you believe the media, Barack Obama was born in a manger

HEY LIBS....get yourselves enlightened TONITE AT 9 PM on HANNITY'S AMERICA on FOX .....I know your TV has probably never been on that channel, but, try it just this once. Come back on here after the show and I would love to hear your opinions of your candidate.

To Gary, Your theory won't hold water. The majority of Democrats are working at some kind of job. The number of Democrats on government programs are way lower than the working Democrats, that is a fact. Most people on government programs do not vote. My name is Windy and I approve this message.

Boots does not seem to be too "swift" to me. It is either that or she/he is too lazy to put forth the effort to thoroughly research the truth. Come to think of it, that seems to be an ingrained trait of most liberals. Lavon---the verdict is out on you. You do show flashes of intelligent and honest debate, but you end up with the same old tired finishing cliches that is so indicative of liberals.

Posted by: Gary Location: Williamston on Oct 11, 2008 at 08:26 PM
I have a great idea on how to fix the whole voter fraud ACORN mess. Just make voters bring a copy of last yrs filed tax papers. That way the people who really should have a say so in who represents us are counted....of course McCain would win by a landslide then wouldn't he? I'm Gary and I approved this message!

Boots you don't watch Fox news because you can't handle the truth - instead of false allegations against candidates they show you the actual film of what the candidates have said done and who they pal around with and you won't face the truth. Obama has taken millions of dollars to educate children as social radicals, has taken and given millions to ACORN which forced banks by threat of legal action to loan money to those who could not afford a house and is now even under and prosecution for voter fraud. The Liberal Media who is in the tank for Obama has not said one word about this until embarassed by the reports by FOX news. Obama's sought out and long term and business deals and connections with radial Marxist friends, Wright, Farahkan, Ayers are such that he does not deserve to be President of the USA. For in truth he is the most liberal Socialist Senator in Congress!

You can't take a test from FOX or anyone else if you don't possess the knowledge to answer the questions. A bumper sticker mentality does not lend to being able to answer real questions that require you actually know something.

To the person who responded to Lavon: Your mentioning of people running inner cities generated a bad connotation in my opinion. Yet, you wish for Pat McCrory (R), mayor of Charlotte, to govern the state of North Carolina? You would rather N.C. be ghetto? That is just contradictory. I'm not saying that a person governing inner-cities make bad leaders, I'm just going off of what you said.

Ex-president Carter Slams Bush On Market Crisis "Profligate spending," massive borrowing and dramatic tax cuts since President George W. Bush took office in 2001 were behind the market turmoil and economic crisis." Actually the economy was picking up quite a bit after recovering from 911( aside from gas prices caused by greater demand from other countries like China) before the buble broke. It was Democrats that were behind and protected the foolish practices of Fannie and Freddie and the same policies that forced banks and mortgage companies into the bad business practices that caused the mortgage crisis in the first place. Had you not created the foundation for this mess with the Community Reinvestment Act this could never have happened. If not for Democrats and their something for nothing schemes, this economy would be rocking. Carter/OBAMA = American Armageddon

When Nancy Pelosi and the democrats took control, gas went from $2.70 per gallon to what it is today. Raising taxes has never stimulated the economy, and that's what Obama wants to do. The average consumers energy bill under Obama's plan will go up $736 dollars per year and get this Obama distances himself from ACORN and won't talk about being their legal Counsel during a lawsuit related to banks not lending to unqualified borrowers. He won't talk about training ACORN staff on how to intimidate bank managers into giving out bad loans. He denies knowing Al Mansour, even faced with the evidence that they were associated. He downplays his relationship with Kahledi, even though he is on record in the LA times about sitting at his dinner table eating wonderful meals and having eye opening conversations and he down plays his association with Ayers.

Posted by: anonymous on Oct 10, 2008 at 02:00 PM
The attacks on Obama are warranted. His alliances with socialists should be exposed so the public can know where he will take this country. There are some that will deny those alliances and vote for him anyway. If he is elected, they will learn that socialism is the future he sees for this nation. It will takes decades to reverse it once people awaken to that truth.

We see all of our inner cities run by dems. Is that how we envision our whole country to look like? A ghetto full of helpless people? geeze, wake up already. If you knew anything about economics it would be scary - welcome to Bill Clinton's economy my dear brought to you by your Buddy Bill and the Democrats in Congress ...the economy has been screwed over by the push to put low income people in housing.. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pushed sub-prime lending and 100% loans .... ACORN also demanded that banks give out loans to people that couldn't afford them... Congratulations you now know what Socialism does to Capitalism.

The PRESIDENT does not have ultimate power except in decision of war.DEMS have controlled DC for over 4 yrs now. Spending has been out of control with Dems for 4 years. DEMOCRAT POLITICIANS absolute love, that LIBERAL AMERICA is so ignorant and think that the President has control over the economy! Dems in DC love, that the LIBERAL AMERICA doesn't read watchdog NON-PARTISAN ORG sites to review their politicians spending habits and voting habits. It's like your teenager stealing your credit card and spending it and laughs while you blame the dog! Contiunued.....

To obama snake oil: If I were you i would start taking the Mccain/Palin signs out of your yard. BWAHAHAHHAAAAAWWWW!!!! Hey steve let me give you a clue just in case you didn't get the memo. Your party is the party of losers. Can you dig it? Obama/Biden08 Obama/Biden08 Obama/Biden08

To Lavon of Kinson: Well said. Need I say more. Lame Mclain has been in office 26 years, what has he done? I's to late for God bless America. This country is doomed and bought by foreigners.

Lavon, if you bump your record player it should skip to the rest of the song on the album. Republicans are not behind this "mess". Ask Barney Franks about what he and the other democrats did to help people that could not afford loans, get loans. They made a lot of money in kick backs. Facts are out there to back this fact up. McCain was the one going against the democrats on this issue and was told to leave it alone. Pelosi and Reid ignored it as well. Clinton, hes a democrat you know, implemented the policy. This democrat is voting republican since there is not a canidate for the democratic party, only the liberal socialist party. Yes, its called newparty.org I won't vote for that because I am not that gulible. Now go get yourself a cold glass of Koolaid, you will feel better.

Democrats are the ones that drove the economy into the melt down. Obammy started the mud slinging, McCain only the speaks the truth. Obammy is a fake.

We are beginning to see the liberals losing their bravado as the gloves are coming off. No more free rides for Obama. Lavon needs to study up on the housing crisis and how it started. He/she also needs to study what has caused the financial crisis. Oh heck, I'll give him a clue.. It was the housing bills passed during the Clinton Administration , and the subsequent stonewalling of a congress that was getting money and support from those fine "pillars of captitalism", Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Congress makes the laws, Lavon, not the president.

I know the Russians and the way they think. I am sorry to say that Putin who still has a say in his country we all know was KGB. He knows all about how to treat Obama. The new boy on the block. First the Russian Government will treat him like a little boy who needs to be spanked. He will treat McCain differently he knows he spent years of hell in his Communist prison, and lived. Believe me if the Russians would have known McCain would have been a presidential canidate in the future. He would never got out of his Communist prison ALIVE. In my opion Obama will have more problems dealing with the Russian Government then McCain will.

Just look at the state of this economy. This is nothing but the chickens coming home to roost from the last eight years of george bush's policy. It absolutely baffles my imagination that the republican party will not take responsibility for what has happened to this nation,Like I said before the republican party is in the white house so guess what? THE REPUBLICANS ARE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS MESS. Now you can slice it any way you want but the buck stops with this administration, which by the way is a republican administration

Look at obama's own book. Experimented with alcohol, cocaine, etc. when he could find it. His own voting record is available to the public. How many of you have taken the time to do the research? You are falling for the oldest tactic in the book. Bait and Switch!!! Obama will tell you anything you want to hear based on where he is at currently. Different ads around the country are promising different things to whomever he is speaking. If you think the country is in a mess now wait until the election is over. Win or lose the population will be in serious trouble. You had better be prepared.

For the record: obama fans, are you saying that what obama has done in the past has no bearing on his future decisions?

Posted by: Dwayne Location: Greenville on Oct 10, 2008 at 11:51 AM
I was listening to an exerpt from a L.Farakan speech yesterday. He referenced obama. During the speech L.Farakan stated, "When the messiah speaks the youth will listen." It appears that Farakan believes that obama is going to be used by "God" for his purposes. This is scary stuff if anyone know what Farakan believes in. So from Rev.Wright to L. Farakan there are your bizarre extremes.

"McChick", I'm "pootin'", sitting here laughing at you. lol I just do not feel that McCain is progressive enough for me. Yeah, saving lives is great, keeping marriage between man and woman is wonderful, but what else will he bring to the table. Another unjustified war? I surely hope not. As I mentioned earlier this year, I am economically progressive in most arenas, and my gut instinct leads me to not vote for McCain. Is it due to the issues we are facing? Most certainly. Is it due to some bias? I would not be honest if I said that there was not a little bias. However, when it all boils down, the main criteria for my selection of a candidate is how similar his/her apparent views/concerns are to mine. For that reason, I will vote for Barack Obama as President of the United States come October 20, 2008. Be sure to exercise your right to vote as well!

mamma for obama - believe me, I'm another mamma for Obama.

I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR ABOUT William Ayers McCain. I want to know what you are going to do for America.

Posted by: McChick/Nobama Location: Greenville on Oct 10, 2008 at 10:58 AM
"He is not directly responding on the stump to the Republican's claim that Obama has associated with a former 1960s terrorist. But Obama has told a radio talk show that he thought the ex-radical William Ayers, now a college professor, was rehabilitated." That's a flip-flop from his first response of "not really knowing him". Hold on - more revelations to come. Know who you are voting for and just don't go with the RocKStaR mentality. Sure he reads well from the teleprompter and can be quite charasmatic, but that charisma will fail him when he sits across from Putin, who would love to just spit on him.

Posted by: mamma for obama on Oct 10, 2008 at 10:57 AM
My God.....McCain is so desperate. I still have all the HOPE and ASSURANCE that the American people that want our country to turn around will give their vote to Obama Biden 08. Please voters and undecided voters...listen to what is being said for the positive.

Posted by: Obama Snake Oil Co Location: Washington on Oct 10, 2008 at 10:56 AM
Yep, you can hit him with facts and it is unfair. Well, Ayers was unfair and if you think he is rehabiltated, well there is another lie. Ayers said recently, that he wish him and his wife had done more, bombings. McCain is not trying to divide the country, he is trying to reveal Obamas hidden facts. Like newparty.org he is a memeber of, they are a socialist/communist group associated with Obama. He denies it but newparty doesn't. Liberals, they just can't tell the truth.

Posted by: Dwayne Location: Greenville on Oct 10, 2008 at 10:51 AM
obama is being confronted with his past and his only recourse is to cry foul. obama is not bringing the country together by hiding who he really is.
