Tropical Storm Alberto may be out of sight, but not out of mind as its effects are still being felt in communities along the Tar River.
Several neighborhoods in the Rocky Mount area are dealing with flooded streets, yards and parks as the Tar River continues to swell from the inches of rain Alberto brought to Nash and Edgecombe Counties. City officials say the worst part of the flooding is around Leggett Road in Rocky Mount. Another section of town dealing with several feet of water is near Guy Smith Park, where we found lots of people taking a look at the scene.
On some parts of Leggett Road city officials estimate the water was around six feet deep.
