Several creeks and rivers in Eastern Carolina are under flood warnings because of Alberto's heavy rains.
The Tar River in Greenville stood at 9.9 feet at 11 a.m. Thursday. It should reach its maximum stage of 19.1 feet at 2 a.m., Wednesday, June 21.
At 19 feet, secondary roads adjacent to the river should flood. Water could draw near a few homes on the river. Acres of farmland could be flooded.
Most other waterways are expected to sustain only minor flooding.
