The news of the death of Al Qaida's top terrorist in Iraq, Abu Musab al Zarqawi, is being met with mixed reaction in Eastern Carolina. Some residents we talked to say this could be a good thing, but that al Zarqawi's death does not signal an end to the war on terror. Folks in Eastern Carolina's military towns also wonder who will take Zarqawi's place. But one Marine wife we talked to wasn't focusing on that.
Tiffany Kiolbasa says, "My dad called me first thing this morning and told me it was my husbands unit that built those bombs over there. Oh my gosh, I've been walking around with a smile on my face all day. I'm a very proud Marine wife right now. I think it’s going to do awesome things for the morale over there not to mention us Marine wives."
The news of Zarqawi's death comes as another 2,000 Marines are set to deploy in the war on terror.
