Tuesday is the official day for Second Primary Elections across North Carolina. In Beaufort County, voters are asked to return to the polls in the Clerk of Court democratic primary. Danny Slade and Marty Paramore are the two candidates in this runoff election. Officials at the Beaufort County Board of Elections say that the same 21 polling places open on the original primary day are open again today, from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Officials expect a light turnout at the polls. However, officials say about 360 people voted early for this second primary election, which is a pretty good showing. In Washington County, the Sheriff democratic primary is in a runoff situation as well. James (Smiley) Ross and Gregory H. Hassell are running for the win. Washington County Board of Elections say 337 people voted early in this second primary. Washington County's six polling place are open, from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.
