Water woes are hitting Onslow County and officials are asking residents of Jacksonville to conserve. The city's wells have not been able to keep up with the huge demand, apparently driven by a lack of rain. Residents are asked to limit car washing, and to only water their lawns on a special schedule. People who live North of Highway 17 should only water lawns on Saturdays and Wednesdays. Residents South of 17 should only water their lawns on Sundays and Thursdays. Rainfall in the Jacksonville is six inches below what it should be.
