There were 19 fatalities on our roadways in the state last year over the Memorial Day weekend. And those fatalities have the State Highway Patrol implementing new plans this weekend to make the roads safer. "Operation Slow Down" will be enforced in an effort to reduce speed related collisions. A second program, "Operation Care," will have troopers patrolling the busiest highways looking for aggressive drivers. And lastly, the "Click It or Ticket" campaign. Checkpoints will be set up to make sure you are wearing your seat belt.
