No Rain, No Bugs, at Least for Now!

While it may not be the best scenario for the environment, it sure is stopping the breeding of mosquitoes. Vector Program officials with the Department of Environmental Health are monitoring rain levels and their effects on mosquitoes. They say because we're behind in the rain department, the more than 50 different species of mosquitoes in the East have not had a chance to thrive. Experts say the fewer mosquitoes, the less likely bugs can transmit diseases like Eastern Equine Encephalitis and Malaria.
