A traffic stop led Winterville Police to arrest a man wanted in Raleigh and Florida.

Police say they stopped Eddie Darnelle Gay for a traffic violation Thursday. The officer figured out Gay is a wanted man. In Winterville, he's charged with several charges, including possession of a stolen gun, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, driving while license revoked, giving fictitious information to an officer, identity theft, failure to register as a sex offender, drug possession and drug paraphernalia.

Gay was taken to the Pitt County Detention Center and put under a $100,000 bond. Gay will be held for extradition for Jacksonville, Florida.
