Many older North Carolinians and those with disabilities will be able to get services at a one-stop service center planned in Raleigh.
The News & Observer reported Thursday the center will allow elderly people to access information on the Medicare Part D prescription drug plan, sign up for Meals on Wheels and examine job possibilities.
The center is designed to eliminate the agency-to-agency shuffle to obtain services.
Jackie Sheppard with the state Department of Health and Human Services says the center should give people more control over the services they receive.
Ten other centers serving 28 counties are being planned.
