Authorities in Caldwell county, in western North Carolina, found 21-year-old mother Amber Pennel alive, inside her pick up truck, five days after it crashed down a ravine.

Her truck had plunged down a 100 foot deep ravine while she was on her way home from work Wednesday night. The ravine was covered with kudzu, making it nearly impossible to see. Workers used ropes to lower themselves into the ravine and worked about 30 to 45 minutes to cut her free.

Pennel survived for five days by eating food she had in her car and keeping warm with a jacket. She was taken to the hospital and treated for dehydration, mild hypothermia and a few broken bones.

To Just Trying to Understand, God saved this young woman. The workers who rescued her were used by God to save her life. I don't know why she ended up in the ravine, but I do know that God uses all things to bring about good. None of us know God's plan for us, but it is absolutely true that many good things come out of bad or even tragic events.

God kept her safe until those workers did find her.. yes they got her out and got her to the safety of the hospital... accidents do happen to everyone.. we all have our trail and tests along the way..

I would just like to know from all of you who believe that it was God, not the workers, who is responsible for saving this lady... who do you believe is responsible for putting her in that ravine to begin with? Does God get credit for that as well?

Amen!! How can you not see what a wonderful God we have!! I am so happy she is alive & well...

This is such good news...im glad that she made it out alive. Did she have any kids? If so, im so glad that she made it for them. The Lord was looking out for her and she should be so thankful--which im sure she is. Stay strong Amber and never ever forget who brought you out of that revine, you may thank the workers which thats normal but if it wasnt for the GRACE of God, you wouldnt have made it, and if it wasnt for the LOVE that Jesus has for us, they wouldnt have found you alive--so thank Almighty and stay focused in the Lord God Bless you....

I agree with greenville. How can unbelievers still not believe?? This is a story that has the Lord's hands all over it. The Lord still has work for this young mother to do, whether she is a believer or not. The Lord knows what is in store for this young mother & family. God bless you, He surely has already. Give Him praise!!
