Onetime social secretary for First Lady Jackie Kennedy was in Greenville Wednesday. Letitia Baldrige was the guest speaker for a new foundation to celebrate and support women and girls in Pitt County, as it held its first annual "Power of the Purse" luncheon in Greenville. Baldrige, a well-known author on everything from the Kennedy White House to manners, told some of her favorite life stories. The luncheon, though, celebrated the new "Women for Women Fund" of the Greater Greenville Community Foundation. The group gave two grants to programs that support women and girls, Literacy Volunteers of Pitt County and Operation Sunshine.
