It was a boaters dream across Eastern Carolina, but for many, the high gas prices are ruining that dream. Curtis Batten, like so many others across Eastern Carolina, loves to fish. Every year he and his family come to Washington to do just that. What normally would run him 16 or 18 dollars to fill up his boat, now costs close to 40. Curtis is even using his electric trolling motor to save on gasoline. He says this summer could be much different for him and his family. We spoke with some area marinas who told us that some people had even canceled their trips because it was going to cost too much to fill up their boat.
