Several houses in Pitt County went up in flames Saturday all to make sure firefighters are properly trained. The homes were donated for fire training. Firefighters from Grifton, Red Oak, Winterville and Eastern Pines, torched them so they could practice putting out the flames. Organizers say there is no better training in any profession than experience. Fire training was provided by Jemms Fire Training Incorporated, and sponsored by Pitt Community College.
