Authorities believe a string of robberies, all of them involving Hispanic victims, were committed by the same two or three people in Pitt County. Since March 12, lawmen say there have been five robberies aimed at the Latino community. They say the perpetrators are looking for money and sometimes cell phones. Pitt County Sheriff Department Chief Lee Moore says the robbers are armed, and did shoot at one of the victims trying to chase them away. Chief Moore says the perpetrators are making off with $1,000 to $1,500 at nearly each location.
