A Pitt County man charged with lighting his girlfriend on fire with lighter fluid is found guilty and sentenced to time behind bars. John Lee Michaels Junior, 50 years old, plead guilty Monday to assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with the intent to kill, stemming from the incident last June. He was sentenced to a maximum of three years and ten months behind bars. His girlfriend suffered severe burns and was treated at the Chapel Hill Burn Center.
