Shots ring out at a Jacksonville fast food restaurant Thursday night, sending one person to the hospital, and police on the look out for the shooter
Captain Billy Houston with Jacksonville police says it happened at 9:30 p.m. at the Taco Bell on Western Boulevard.
Detectives tell WITN News that an on-going argument between two men escalated. One of the men walked into the restaurant, pulled out a shotgun and fired it at the other.
Detectives say an employee accidentally bumped the intended target out of the line of fire. Instead the pellets from the gun hit a planter and a customer inside the store.
The shooter took off, and the innocent bystander had to be taken to the hospital. Officers say they were treated and released.
The restaurant was back open Friday and customers said they were not concerned about the shooting the night before, calling it a random incident.
