A discharge has been granted for a 65-year-old man who's been jailed at Camp Lejeune on charges he deserted the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Jerry Texiero's release was approved Wednesday. He is suspected of leaving Camp Pendleton, California without permission in 1965. The Camp Lejeune base commander granted his discharge request in lieu of a trial. Texiero was caught in Florida back in August. He was transferred to Camp Lejeune last month.
