Residents at South Park Mobile Home community in Lenoir County were asked last December to vacate their trailers by January after the property owner declared financial trouble.
Now, residents still living there say they feel trapped because they don't have the means to move elsewhere. Dorothy Oliver is calling the living situation at South Park a Hurricane Katrina situation in Eastern Carolina.
Oliver says the living conditions she and her neighbors have endured are beyond horrible, especially living under a boil water advisory for an entire month after the property owner failed to pay the electric bill for water service to the community.
South Park Mobile Home community will be sold as a foreclosure Feb. 24.
