Monday was the last day of deer hunting season, but there is still no end to the problems between some Lenoir County landowners, and deer hunters and their hunting dogs.
Some homeowners in the town of Institute say they're sick and tired of hunting dogs running across their land. In many cases they've posted signs to keep people from trespassing. Hunters say they understand the concerns, but there is only so much they can do.
Some residents of Institute will meet with the Lenoir County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 16. They will ask them to ban hunting with dogs, as well as ban hunters from shooting high powered rifles from the bed of their pick-up trucks.
