There are signs of economic growth. 100 new jobs are coming to Lenoir County. The Lenox Company on Dobbs Farm Road plans to spend $2.5 million to expand its Kinston plant. The company, which is the only fine china manufacturing plant in the country, shut down its Pomona, New Jersey facility back in November. They will move their equipment to the Kinston plant to continue making bone and fine china products. Plant Manager Paul Leichtnam says the new positions will be added to the production line. Leichtnam says 70 people will be hired this year and the rest over the next year and a half. The typical starting salary will average around $10 an hour.
