Police Say Teacher Assistant Attacked At School

Authorities say a stabbing took place inside Pines Elementary School in Washington County Thursday. The sheriff's department says 36-year-old Kelvin Blount of Plymouth is accused of pushing a teacher's assistant into a bathroom and then stabbing her in the chest and shoulder area. Blount was arrested on the scene. Lawmen say the two did know each other, but it's unclear what prompted the attack. Young has been treated for her injuries.
