Camp Lejeune says the annual base July 4 celebration will feature traditional activities, fireworks and a concert by Nashville star Lee Ann Womack this year.

The celebration will be held at W.P.T. Hill Field at the base.

Recreation manager Patsy Schneider said the all day event will include children's activities, musical entertainment, displays from sponsors of the celebration and will end with a huge fireworks display.

Schneider says the July 4 celebration is a recognition of the dedication of service members and their families as well as a recognition of the nation's beginnings.
