The Christmas spirit filled the air of Eastern Carolina with a number of parades, probably the largest of which was in Greenville.
In Greenville Santa Claus helped sing in the 22nd Annual Jaycee's Holiday Christmas Parade. The parade went straight through the heart of downtown on Evans Street Saturday, and the crowds wanted to see it all. In total officials say anywhere from ten to fifteen thousand people came to watch the parade. The parade was also bigger than in years past with over 113 entries. The J.H. Rose Football team was also honored as the Grand Marshals for the event since they will play in the state championship game next week.
The parade was broadcast live right here on WITN and our own Heather King and Meteorologist Jim Howard were the hosts for the holiday treat.
