Two Pitt County Wrecks Send 11 People To The Hospital

Two wrecks on Highway 11 Thursday involved five cars and sent eleven people to the hospital.

Ayden police chief Barry Stanley says both wrecks happened near Ayden-Grifton High School, but no students were involved and none of the injuries were life-threatening.

Chief Stanley says about 4:30 p.m. an S.U.V and car collided at Littlefield Road and Highway 11 and three people were taken to the hospital. No word on charges yet in that wreck.

About an hour later, there was another wreck just north of that intersection involving three cars and eight people were taken to the hospital. A driver was charged with failure to reduce speed.
