2 NC Residents Get Prison For Medicaid Fraud

BURLINGTON (AP) - Two Alamance County residents have been sentenced to federal prison after pleaded guilty to Medicaid fraud.

The Times-News of Burlington reported they also were ordered to repay nearly $400,000.

Sixty-one-year-old Evelyn Fuller of Mebane and 57-year-old Michael McLean of McLeansville pleaded guilty in February to conspiracy to commit health care fraud and felony health care fraud.

The U.S. attorney's office said the two submitted false claims to the North Carolina state Medicaid program between June 2007 and November 2008.

U.S. District Judge Catherine Eagles sentenced Fuller to 26 months in prison followed by three years of supervised released. McLean was sentenced to three years in prison followed by three years of supervised released.
