Two Goldsboro kids on their way to school were severely injured when they were struck by a sports utility vehicle while they were in a crosswalk. The accident happened Ash Street right in front of their school. Police say Carson Thomas and Mckenzie Wessels, both 13, were struck by 23-year-old Louis Delgado Jesus. Thomas and Wessels were first taken to Wayne County Memorial Hospital before being airlifted to Pitt County Memorial Hospital in serious condition. School counselors immediately met with the students. Jesus was charged with driving without a license, or vehicle registration. He's currently being held at the Wayne county jail. More charges are possible as the investigation continues.
