Prescribed Burn Delayed

We have new information about a wildfire that devoured about 533 acres of the Croatan National Forest last week.
While the wildfire is 100 percent contained, crews are still putting out some hot spots. They were planning on burning a section of the forest off of highway 24 and Pringle Road in Carteret County Saturday. But the district fire management officer says it was just too windy and the humidity was too low to safely burn.
He says they are still investigating the cause of the wildfirebut they do suspect it was arson.
Officials say the prescribed burn might be rescheduled for Sunday if the weather is better.
