We have had unseasonably warm weather in the last couple of weeks and now it's beginning to feel like November.
Temperatures could dip below freezing overnight Thursday, and that means you may need to begin thinking about your pipes, pets, and plants. Experts recommend wrapping exposed pipes and covering outside faucets. It's also recommended to use a heat lamp, if you have your own well pump.
Experts also recommend using cedar shavings for outside animals instead of wheat straw, because cedar attracts fewer fleas and other insects. Also remember to bring plants inside that can't take the cold or cover them.
