Friday was bout honoring our veterans and their sacrifices.
Veterans Day observances took place all over the nation Friday, including here in Eastern Carolina. In downtown Greenville, the day kicked off with a parade featuring Pitt County's oldest war hero.
There was also a ceremony following the parade that featured the laying of a wreath and the playing of taps. It's a way to say thank you to all that our veterans did and continue to do for our country.
A number of high schools also participated in Friday's ceremony, all honoring America's veterans.
