Drugs, and a stolen gun were discovered in the possession of two teenagers after they accidentally shot themselves. Pitt County sheriff’s deputies say two teenage brothers accidentally shot themselves Thursday night after grinding off the serial numbers to a stolen hand gun. Deputies say the bullet went through the 17-year-old’s hand and into the 14-year-old’s chest. Both were treated and released from the hospital. Deputies say the boys got the gun on a trade for three packs of cigarettes. Deputies say charges ranging from possession of a stolen firearm, to tampering with serial numbers, and possession of marijuana will be filed.
