It's that time of year again time to protect yourself from the flu virus. Right now, health departments across the East are offering flu shots to the population that's considered high risk such as the elderly, children and those with weakened immune systems. In Pitt County, Blue Cross and Blue Shield has been hosting a flu shot clinic at the Greenville Convention Center for the past two days. More than 500 vaccines have been administered primarily to the elderly, those with chronic medical conditions, health care workers, and healthy children between two and 23 months. The Pitt County Health Department says this year there will be plenty of vaccines available. The Pitt County Health Department will host a flu shot clinic on October 19.
