WITN has learned that more financial information has surfaced documenting credit card usage by some Bertie County School officials, amid accusations of misspending.
It's financial information Bertie County Commissioners have requested from the school district on three separate occasions since June. The school system's lawyer says the last of that information has been handed over. More could be on the way after an independent auditor completes an analysis of the school system's finances.
WITN received access to those credit card records given to county commissioners and we found trips abroad, fancy meals and clothing items purchased with county money. We'll have more on the story Thursday on WITN 7 News at Six.
