Program To Spotlight Local Seafood

The Seafood Festival is a way to recognize the fishing industry of our state, but sometimes that industry needs a little help.

That's why a group of volunteers have started an initiative to identify the origins of seafood, so customers can make sure they buy local seafood as opposed to the imports coming in from Asia and other countries. The program is called Carteret Catch, and Saturday, the program held their ribbon cutting... a program local fisherman will hopefully enjoy.

The group was cooking up some of that local seafood for hungry customers.
