Two people who were wanted in the killing of a man in Pennsylvania were arrested today at the end of a highway chase along the Outer Banks. Police said 39-year-old James Raymond Savage and 35-year-old Heather Lavalle were spotted by a park ranger who saw them speeding along State Highway 12 near the Bodie Island lighthouse. The ranger gave chase, joined by Nags Head police. Officers stopped the car by laying out spike strips that punctured one of its tires, and grabbed the couple as they tried to run away. Authorities say Savage and Lavelle are suspects in the killing of 28-year-old Christian Rojas of Bensalem, Pennsylvania. He was beaten and strangled, and his hog-tied body was found early last Saturday. They're also charged with stealing his car.
