Part of Pamlico County will be without water tonight. That's because the county's water department and the DOT will be doing water line tie-ins.
The county says from Mil Pond Road in Alliance to Jenkins Gas Company in Bayboro water will be shut off. Restaurants, schools and businesses in this area will be affected.
Work will begin at 9:00 pm. Wednesday night and they anticipate working through the early morning hours. During that time there will be periods of low or no water pressure.
The water system says they'll also be doing some system flushing after the tie-ins. Because of that, residents should boil all water used for human consumption for one minute before using.
