Seventy-two-year-old John Robert Spence faces several counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor. His roommate, 60-year-old Asa Monroe Spain, was charged with one count of the same offense. The charges were filed after a State Bureau of Investigation probe into the alleged wrongdoings, but the sex of the victim is not being released, nor is the victim's age. S.B.I. officials say the crimes happened recently but would not release the dates. Spence was with WNCT for more than 20 years.
