East Carolina University is test driving a brand new bus that could one day join their fleet and it's a fuel saver! Earlier Monday, the university's transit department received a demonstration hybrid bus from the Covington Diesel Company located in Greensboro. The Allison and General Motors bus which runs on fuel and electricity cuts down in emissions by 90 percent and provides a 60 percent improvement in fuel economy. The hybrid bus will be put in service for one day only this Wednesday. The cost to buy this bus was $300,000.
