About 100 servicemen and women from the 362nd Quartermaster battalion out of Kinston received a hero's welcome home Saturday. These military personnel were recognized for their bravery in Iraq, others honored for their service in Kuwait. Saturday, all were saluted as heroes by their battalion leaders and loved ones at the Bethel Free Will Baptist Church in Kinston. When asked about the political climate surrounding the Bush administration war which most were deployed to fight, one lieutenant told us it was a serviceman's job to separate the two.
The service men and women's main job was traveling up and down supply routes to provide fuel to combat troops.
