Cherry Point Workers Revamping Choppers

Civilian workers at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point are helping the Marine Corps deal with a serious helicopter shortage. Workers at the Naval Air Depot, the states largest employer, will start cleaning and updating three worn-out Super Stallion helicopters that were
put to pasture in the Arizona desert for a decade. This is the first time that retired helicopters such as these have been reclaimed from the military's aircraft boneyard, and workers could begin working on them as early as this week. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are mainly to blame for the big helicopter shortage. The Super Stallion moves large amounts of cargo and troops long distances and performs rescue missions.
