Murder-Suicide in Goldsboro

Authorities in Goldsboro, Wayne County, found the body of a missing woman in the Neuse River Friday, one day after her husband, who reported her missing, was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Brenda Lee Owens, 48-years-old was reported missing by her husband Robert. When authorities suspected foul play in her disappearance, they returned to her home. They say that's where they found her husband Robert dead, after he shot himself. Authorities are calling this a murder-suicide. The couple is survived by three children, a 14-year-old son who lived in the home, a 30-year-old son, and a 22-year-old daughter.
