Investigation at Animal Shelter Prompts Changes

An investigation into a local animal shelter has the owners making changes.

Joanne and Jim Thompson, operators of J and J Rescue in Beaufort County, say they'll comply with state regulations after their shelter was investigated by officials with the state Department of Agriculture's Veterinary Medicine.

The Thompson's say the state recommended they add individual units in their puppy pen and install concrete floors. They also say they will not house more than 10 dogs at a time, which would require a license.
