Jacksonville's Conference Center Could Be in Jeopardy

The Jacksonville city council voted to let city manager Ken Hagen get details on paper from a hotel chain to start the downtown conference center project. It is now expected to cost the city more than $14 million. There will likely be one final yes or no vote by the council to proceed with the project or shelve the plans now in the works for more than six years.
