Strong winds and heavy rain passed through many Eastern Carolina communities Wednesday. In Winterville a lightning strike was the big news in one neighborhood. A bolt of lightning did quite a bit of damage to a big tree. Luckily, a nearby house was spared. In Williamston, Martin County a homeowner wasn't as lucky as a lightning strike hit a house causing a fire. And in Beaufort County, strong storms caused some minor damage in the River Road area.
