Police say a woman and her two adult daughters died when their van crossed three lanes on Interstate 85 in Guilford County and collided with a truck.
The Charlotte Observer reported that the women died Saturday about 10:50 a.m. The Highway Patrol identified the victims as 57-year-old Diane Brooks, 28-year-old Hadiya Brooks and 37-year-old Angelique Brooks, all of Charlotte.
Hadiya Brook's two children were in child safety seats and didn't sustain serious injuries when the van was hit by a truck hauling 44,000 pounds of fruit.
The truck driver won't be charged.
Trooper J.D. Goodnight said the women apparently were on their way from Charlotte to Raleigh.
The trooper said it wasn't known why the van crossed the traffic lanes.
