Battling the Heat and Fire

Battling a blaze in the blazing heat. It's a tough job Greenville firefighters had to tackle twice Thursday morning. The first fire happened at a home on East Twelfth Street around 10 a.m. Renovations were underway at the unoccupied home when the work crew noticed flames coming from the kitchen stove and called for help. Less than an hour after putting this one out, the same firemen were called to another fire at the Oakmont Square Apartment Complex on Red Banks Road. Firefighters have to rotate in and out about every ten minutes to avoid heat-related ailments. Both fires were minor.
