Weather Keeping Mosquitoes in Check

The first case of West Nile Virus in North Carolina, claiming the life of a Duplin County horse this week, raises the question: How vulnerable are people?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there have been no human cases of West Nile Virus reported across the state this year. And according to the state Department of Environmental Health, mosquito infestation is below average this time of year, because of the overall lack of rainfall.

Visit the CDC’s site on the West Nile Virus for more information.
