The Coast Guard is warning boaters to avoid the scene of a sunken vessel, after two commercial fishing boats collided Tuesday night in core sound. Officers at Fort Macon say the two boats, the "Amy Carol" and the "Miss Lindsey," collided near Atlantic Beach in Carteret County. The "Amy Carol" sank and is now a hazard to mariners in the area. No injuries were reported.
