Kids Playing Sports in the Heat

Video will be available shortly

With the heat expected to get into triple digits this week, how are kids playing outdoor sports handling the heat? According to the coaches and staff of the New Bern River Rats Summer Baseball camp, water is the key. Starting Monday, players eight to 13 years old will have baseball practice three hours a day and another camp will do the same thing next week. Coaches say because of the heat, they are having practice in the mornings, and asking parents to keep their kids hydrated after practice too. Plus, coaches are making players take plenty of water breaks whether the kids want to or not.
