Water Conservation Possible

Rocky Mount residents may soon be forced to conserve water because the city's reservoir is getting low. City officials say the reservoir is currently two- inches below normal, and for a city the size of Rocky Mount, that is significant. If residents are ordered to conserve, they will see restrictions on things like watering their lawns, car washing and power washing. City water officials say the lack of rain this summer is the main problem. The last time residents saw a water restriction was in 2002, when the water level dropped below five-inches.
